Last night I came up with this problem.
Gay, in the eyes of god, is sinful. So if some one of your own gender forces themselfs upon you, are you seen as gay in gods eyes? and should you go to hell for that?

as mean as that sounds im with Liam on this one.
Does it really matter.
I guess it all comes down to whether your religious or not!
If you are religious, it does matter.
There are many, many ways to interpret any text, especially religious and philosophical ones such as the Bible and the Qur'an. Some view the act of homosexual sodomy as the epitome of sin whilst other, often gay, people believe that God loves all his children equally. I have some Islamic friends, for instance, who believe that only being sodomized as apposed to giving XXXX sex is sinful.
In relation to your original question, God would not turn His back on anyone who was forced into sin.

Yup.
Jack just... took the words out of my mouth.
Although there are reaaaaaams of things that can be seen as sinful, the bible also preaches that God can forgive anyone for anything.

personally i dont get the bible or agree with some of the stuff in it.
it says you should love everyone right?
so why is being gay a sin?
gays are people too...
therefore included in that everyone....
contradictinggg.

actually!!! the bible states that being gay/bi/lez is not a sin. Its sex and kissing and flirting with someone of the same gender that is a sin. But I beleave that god doesn't care, he loves all his children and doesn't want to hate them for liking someone of the same gender.

Nah, if it's forced then you didn't want it. Therefore, no gayness. Therefore no angry extreme christians chasing you xD
Seriously though, if every sin sent you to hell 99% of the world's population will be burning for eternity *shrugs*
Some of the things I've done that are considered sinful, I'm not genuninely sorry for, so I'm set for damnation xD

If you're not religious (like me...)
then whatever 'god' thinks, you dont care.
I dont believe in god, therefore I couldnt care less what the bible etc says, but that doesnt mean it's wrong to believe it,
Everyone has different views on it, some believe in it, some dont.
Dont shoot me for this, it's only my view. :)

Ok Im doing this from memory of sunday school so if I make a mistake bare with me xD
Now the bible doesnt have a section called Homo's and the the rules it doesnt say being gay is a sin it was put in there the act of soddem was a sin (a'nail sex) this wasnt the word of god more a list of man made rules saying 'look guys sex is about marriage and babies not fun and lust' now remember this was during a time the romans were having mass orgys and woman and slave's were sex toys not people so this idea sex is for babies was neat to keep public order.
God is an idea of love and hell is an idea in the old testament after the age of jesus mankind was forgiven its sins as the old testament stated and a new age began jesus said to love everyone (there was no list of ppl to not love) jesus said forgive those who wish to be forgiven, and god will forgive anyone who feels repent and asks.
Being gay is not sinful only bigots and extreme people would think that the act of a person forcing them self onto you would be their sin not yours its also unlawful, if you have it in your heart forgive them and your self and follow the law.

Yes but that implies that we are being asked to repent for being gay, so that we will be forgiven for it, right? But we have nothing to be sorry for. Obviously.

Plenty of things I've done could land me in hell, and let's face it, I'm not truly sorry, and don't see why I should have to be.
I don't think I have any moral obligation to a god who would punish me for doing what makes me happy.

If someone of the same gender forces themselfs upon you you are not viewed as gay in gods eyes.
You are only gay in gods eyes if you have attractions for the same sex.
What's with the religious thing all of a sudden?
I'm sure you'll be fine because according to the bible Jesus himself has had homosexual experiences and he is without sin.....apparently xD

Even if you were to go to hell for it, a lot of ppl that you probably know would be there. (not trying to insult anyone here), but if we went by all the sins in the bible, well...Heaven would be pretty empty right now.

My parents talk a lot about 'going to hell' and 'sins' but I don't really believe them. I was just curious.

^ ^ sorta right about that right there ^ ^
There are lots of "sins" but some are talked about more and seen as worse then others. I'm not really extremely religious but I think that there "supossed to be equally all wrong" obviousily it's not seen and treated that way. Yea I think that some sins are worse then others buuuut I dont think gay / lesbian / bi / pan / transexual people should go to hell, no way you are who you are you like who you like so be it, if it makes you happy and it's all consenting, legal, and safe.

Well ...
Yes it teaches that you should love everyone,
even the sinners.
So it teaches that you should love gay people, technically.
It's other people who go out and go on "gay hate parades."
And then sometimes say that it says to do that in the Bible.
So I don't think that you should say that it is contradicting itself in that category, because it's not.

OH AND yes the Bible does say very plainly ..in some book which i cannot remember ...
that being with the same gender and having sexual relations with them is a sin and that it is something god HATES.
just like god HATES gossiping ...which is some other book which i cant remember. >=\
and the only reason I know this is because pastors like to stick their nose in my business and then give me scriptures to read about it ...
but yeah it does say that having sexual relations with the same gender is wrong and a sin and that God hates it.

This Really Helped me to put a perspective on the Bible's teachings on Homosexuality.
If you read carefully and discern the truth, your mind will open as mine did.
This one goes over Biblical History of Homosexuality:
http://worldpolicy.org/projects/globalrights/sexorient/bible-gay.html
This one is the one that opens your eyes:
http://worldpolicy.org/projects/globalrights/sexorient/bible-gay2.html
In reading the Bible, you need solid evidence and faith in God to guide you.
No one else will hold your hand in your personal journey. It's the nature of things. Again, it's faith alone that determines how you choose to live. :)
BTW, parents that focus on Hell, Sin, and Punishment aren't teaching the important things. That's what you call fear-mongering. Haha.

take no offense to this, it's just my opinion.
but, to me, god seems like an evil man. he puts fear in hearts and says to treat people the same and love all. even though christians and people of other religions hate gay people. to me, it seems hypocritical and it makes no sense.
i do believe that there could be something after life, of somebody like god or buddha. but this is why i don't believe in the christian god. to me, he seems evil. but i think it's great for people to have faith (which i do-- i just don't know what in yet).

There is no "hate" involved. Christians believe sexual relations and intimate feelings for someone of the same sex is sinful, but I will keep making this point, the bible says more times than I care to count that you are forgiven for EVERYTHING. Thats the whole point of Jesus, right? to die for our sins?
Fair enough, not every gay person is going to turn around and go "sorry im gay".. they have nothing to be sorry for, but they'll be loved just the same.
He only puts "fear in the hearts" of those who need it to get their booty back in gear.
If God was evil, Christianity wouldnt be one of the most reknown faiths in the world.

very true. i'm glad that you're a person who is a christian (i'm guessing) and believe that gay people should be loved, too. all i know is that most people at my school (well, they're all idiots, so i probably shouldn't base my opinion on them) think that gay people are disgusting. these are people taht go to christian churches three or four times a week! how can you be that close to god and just think that somebody is disgusting just for who they're attracted to?
i guess this, for me, is about just how hypocritical people in my life can be. not god. but it's still every bit as frustrating.

i dont htink you'll go to hell over being raped.. or something

You're only forgiven if you have to ask to be forgiven, it's called repentance.
So yes, God is asking for you (in a general sense...) not only to apologize for being gay but also change your ways and just "not be gay anymore."
I agree with the Ryro...person. O.o
I think that the Christian god is evil, it's just everybody has been brainwashed for so long, and fed false information that everyone believes that he's wonderful.

Religion is just a pain in the bum, it makes people worry about their own life's because of that one religion's beliefs!
So many Gods to choose from, surely if there is a God there will be only ONE God. It's not like some league of superheroes...although if it were, The Flash will get my attention ;DD
Religion only tells us what we can and cannot do, it restricts us from feeling alive..feeling free..feeling ourselfs (and to those who are dirty minded i don't mean masturbation). If God was opposed to the idea of two men havng sex, why would God make the human body compatible for it? Why make the nerves around the anus so sensitive? Why have the prostate in an area where it can easily be pleasured by the peepee?
God intended us to marry and to never part if so we would be condemed to hell (if my knowledge is correct) back in the old days sure divorce wasn't so bad but in the modern days divorce is as common as the flu so yea most of our parents will be going to hell but who's worried?
Till Death Do Us Part, yea right.
If religion is about beliefs, then we all should have our own seperate religion because we all believe in different things. Why should i let my beliefs torment me about whether i'll be going to hell or not? So what if i like a bit of bum? If i like it then perhaps God likes it too!
All i know is, i couldn't give two shakes about Religion and my beliefs.
