I'm sick of being Labeled as these because of the way i look and dress.

People call me an Emo or Goth...I mean c.mon!!

I look nothing like a goth! and i'm hardly Emo, i wear loose light jeans with a buckle belt...a fashionable shirt and a hoodie with my jacket ontop -____-

Christ i wear none of the Emo-sh*t...tight clothes aren't just for emos and sure i wear my skinnies every now and then but doesn't make me emo.

Has anyone had this? And what do you think of it?

yeah. it's happened to me before. i mean, for christ sake. i listen to fall out boy and panic at the disco. and people call me emo and gay and a XXX. and i wear skinny jeans. i mean, just because somebody wears a pair of pants or listens to a certain kind or music or a certain band or reads a certain book or watches a certain movie, it doesn't make them "emo" or "scene". and even if they consider somebody "emo" or "scene", does that mean that they have to be bisexual or gay? we live in such a narrow-minded world. it's utterly disgusting. people need to broaden their views. i shy away from the term emo because there's so much confusion involved around it. and if i do use it, i mean it as "emotional". then wouldn't everybody be "emo". it all depends on how you interpret things.

I've been called it numerous times but I have NO idea what it is! Scene is basically the same as Emo, it just focuses more on the fashion and less about what all Emo kids "apparently" do according to small minded people.

Exactly! I watch Gay Culture films BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN I'M GAY! lol!!!! But in all seriousness you're totally right. I get people saying to me "You're like emo! Why are you listening to rave?" Yea i'm not f-ing emo and i listen to basically all types of music.....Just because i listen to mostly Tokio Hotel, Hadouken!, Marilyn Manson or BMTH doesn't mean that i or anyone else doesn't listen to Techno, Rap or anything else.

I get labeled all he f*king time... It's horrible. :(

I do wear a lot of black, I'll admit it... Pretty much everything I own is black, white, blue, or grey, and I love lace and Victorian-inspired looks... Does that make me goth?

I love writing poems, I wear a lot of eyeliner, I do like skulls, I do love metro guys, and I admit to being depressed a lot (it runs in my family). Does that make me emo?

I love mosh pits (yeah, I'm a girl... hehe), I love multicolored hair and piercings, I saw Jeffree Star in concert, and I love big hair and was into 80s music and dress before it suddenly became popular recently... Does that make me scene?

I think mohawks are sexy on guys, I love certain "real" punk bands (ones that are labeled "traditional" like old Misfits, Oi Polloi, The Casualties, Mercy Killers, etc.; I do love some poppy-punk and other music, btw), I do find many faults with my government, and I do want to dye my hair... Does that make me punk?

I go to an exclusive magnet/prep school, and right now I have the biggest crush on a Ralph Lauren-wearing preppy guy... Does that make me a prep?

I do read things other then magazines, I get good grades and am in advanced classes (I should be in 8th grade because of my late birthday, but the majority of my classes are honors freshman/ honors sophomore level), and I'm online a lot... Does that make me a geek?

Where do I belong? I'm complex, and I'm not saying that to be different... Just the very fact that I'm human makes me complex, since we as humans are all born with various emotions, feelings, needs, desires, and abilities. And it's precisely that reason that makes me refuse to affiliate with any clique or subculture.

Also, you always hear people chanting "we are all the same, we all hold the same potential for greatness". Maybe a long time ago, when Eastern and Southern Europeans, non-Whites, Jews, etc. where treated as inferiors, hearing this was necessary. It was a broad, all encompassing statement that was flimsy and could be changed as the years went by... The problem is, it wasn't.

Not all people have the same IQ, not everyone has the same abilities, not everyone looks the same, and (to stick with this idea) not everyone has the same interests! And, no one can fit a stereotype 100% of the time... You should be an individual and not a label. (Why I love this site. :P )

Everyone says im a scenekid. =[
I mean, yeah, i have the huge white glasses, the hair (which, my hairdresser cut for me, i didnt want it), the starry/stripey jumpers, the insanely bright t-shirts and wear eyeliner,
but that doesn't make me scene.

I mean, i also have black t-shirts, board shorts, Dunlop/Converse/DC's/Nike trainers and the occasional spiderman costume in my wardrobe =]

but i dont label myself, i just lik what i like. :)

damn
I really wanna know what it means

scene is stereotypically a person with big ****y hair, normally backcombed and pin-straight, usually colorful, with either stripes of color or raccoon stripes horizontally, they have alot of diamond shaped jewellery, as well as hello kitty, and other disney characters, often they look something like a harajuku girl from tokyo, they wear skinny jeans, but more commonly too-short, slutty tutu skirts and small tank tops. a few good examples would be kiki kannibal or audrey kitching.
