It seemed appropriate to open this forum.
There are people from the US here, and it is coming up.

So if you have any opinions, questions, random bits of knowledge about the race, here is the place.

lol.
ok so if McCain wins theres gonna be alot of people who are not going to like it b.c hes "old" but itll be a bigger controversy if Obama wins simply b.c he's black.
i honestly dont think americas ready for a black president. america isnt ready for any type of drastic change like that. it'll put a dent in the routine and america functions off of its routine. if obama is president everyone knows some sick individual will crawl out of the wood works and try and do something terrible.
well to who ever wins anyways. i feel sincerely sorry for the mess you have to clean. Bush was never taught manners and doesnt know how to pick up after himself.
but hey! at least he knows how to color in the lines!!

I don't even live in America so my opinion counts for pretty much zero, but I think McCain is too conservative. Obama is a little more liberal, so I'm backing him. :)
But I'm only counting on the information that I read in the newspapers, and since I live in New Zealand the info is scarce.

Obama for sure. Don't want any more republicans in the White House.

If I had a choice. I'd choose Bartlett. But i'm straying into the world of fantasy here.

Honestly, I kind of agree with Pinkie.
It seems almost like the US isn't ready for Obama.
But I also think we've moved to the point where we CAN'T have McCain.

I'm sure some won't see it as progress, but in my view it is.
The US has come a long way in the past couple of years, and I think McCain just isn't in line with it.
His views are slightly uptight and old world US.
The US is relaxing so much more that what it used to be.

My biggest thing is that Obama wants to do something different than what we've had for the past eight years.
How that doesn't have people screaming with joy, I don't know.
McCain wants to continue what we have, and Obama is going to try to do what he thinks will help us.

Plus, Sarah Palin scares me.
I think she's slightly insane.

I've never been this interested in politics.
And I'm pretty sure if other people were running, I wouldn't be as interested.

eh. kinda.
theyre making a big deal out of her because shes a single mother with a 17 year old daughter who is 5 months pregnant and she has a an autistic son. so everyone is questioning her as a mother and not as a political figure. so theyre giving her a scary illusion......dare i say theyre stereotyping her?

I'm not basing her on that, in fact, I just heard about that before I logged on.
I'm basing it on the impression she gives me when she talks.
It seems like she has a slight hysteria to her voice.
OR it's probably just me being weird again.

This is true, he really isn't.
His father is from Kenya.
His mother is from Kansas in the US.

His father is from Kenya, and that makes his father African.
His mother is from Kansas, making his mother American.
Wouldn't that LITERALLY make Barak Obama AFRICAN AMERICAN?

Anyways, my dad's like...obsessive over Palin at this point. He loves her.

Personally, I'm all for Obama and Biden.

I heart Tina Fey.
She did the best impression of Sarah Palin on SNL.
Love it.
Google it if you haven't seen it.

you know whichever way this goes america is F****d and im saying this nicely

either they get a black president which is a good thing i think or
a woman Vise president which i think is a bit stupid with all the publicity she has been getting

i think america is not ready for so much change, but it might actually be good, for them when they get used to it.

but i am all for Obama

If McSame/Palin win, I will seriously consider moving out the country... what a freaking liar! All he does is spew hate and lies (teaching sex to kindergarteners? raising taxes? wtf???) about Obama. That and he is extremely anti-choice, anti-gay, anti-environment, and wholeheartedly pro-war, whatever he claims to the contrary.

I think its great and progressive that he picked a woman to be his running mate, but its a despicable and transparent attempt to get ****ed off Hillary voters.

OBAMA/BIDEN '08!!!!

Honestly.....I believe that no matter who wins we're all screwed in this country.

McCain did the smart thing by picking a female running mate to get women's votes...but I don't like Sarah Palin. At all. I vote based on issues, not by gender.

McCain may be old, but I disagree with people saying that would make him a bad President. I just don't agree with hardly anything he says, not that I entirely agree with Obama, but he is a better choice in my eyes.
Plus McCain only picked a woman to get the female votes.
And Obama has almost every black rapper supporting him.

I dunno, anyone of them is better than Bush.
But I support Obama[:

I support Obama, but I can't vote]:
I still thinks its idiotic to say stuff like "Osama Obama" or "Nobama".
Seriously people should kind of grow up when it comes to that, just like saying that McCain will be a bad president just because he is old; None of that should matter.
It should be what the candidate is going to do for America.

I don't support either of them. Honestly, I don't. If I had to choose, which I can't, I have 4 years until I can vote, I would look at the issues most important to me: Homosexuality, and Guns. Obama and McCain are about the same on the Homosexuality // Same Sex Marriage thing as far as I know, and McCain is more for guns than Obama so I would probably vote for McCain. Although I HATE the fact that Palin is against abortion, EVEN IN THE CASE OF RAP3, it majorly p*sses me off. F**k them both, honestly, they both strongly anger me.

DIAGEOLIAM FOR PRESIDENT! WH000P!

Haha, I wish. <3

But ferreal. I am just glad that I have a few people convinced to do a write in vote. They're either voting for me, or my friend Megan. So watch out world! You're gonna have a 14 year old president. (: <3 F**k yeah.

I totally agree with you Nate. Sarah Palin is pretty scary and I worried what will happen if she is in office.
I'm also worried that McCain has a chance to win. I'm sure he will take away rights from people and I can't
deal with that. I don't understand why people don't want something different in the white house. If McCain
is elected, there is just going to be more of the same. With Obama, there will be new ideas and that is just
what we need.
Heres to hoping Obama is the next president.

just thought i'd mention
i found something (on godhatesamerica.com of all places - the part where it says that obama is the antichrist) that states that obama is FOR gay marriage - quoting something that he said.

The Sermon on the Mount is some of the greatest preaching ever done on Earth, and the words Jesus' preached to His disciples that day should be studied by every individual of mankind as if their eternal souls depended on it (since they do). But to hear Antichrist Obama tell it, this blessed piece of instructional Scripture justifies the sin of *** sex, condones *** marriage, and declares it open season to kill! Read Antichrist's words:

"I don't think it [*** marriage] should be called marriage, but I think that it is a legal right that they should have that is recognized by the state. If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans."

Obscure passage indeed. What Antichrist is saying is that his warped wresting (2 Pet. 3:16) of this sermon TRUMPS Leviticus 18:22, which clearly tells us that fags are an abomination; it TRUMPS Exodus 20:13, which commands us not to kill! Let's boil this down with some plain speech -- according to Antichrist Obama, Jesus said it's okay to anally copulate and kill unborn babes in His Sermon on the Mount!

Only Antichrist would commit such a grievous sin against the Holy Ghost (Matt. 12:31), claiming the words He (the Holy Ghost) wrote contradict one another. Antichrist Obama is declaring God to be a liar! How fitting for america to birth the Beast! We've witnessed first hand how you hate God and His Word, so it is only fitting that you put this leader on the world stage to lead you to your final destruction.

He has promised the *** community of this country he will criminalize hate speech. Hate speech? What in the world? To Antichrist Obama and his limp-wristed, effeminate constituency, hate speech is any word spoken out of the Bible! Leviticus 18:22 becomes hate speech under Antichrist Obama's reign. "Thou shalt not kill" will become hate speech during the reign of the next Holy Roman Emperor, Antichrist Obama! Hate speech indeed. The only hate speech in this nation is coming from Antichrist Obama's mouth. Like his father the devil before him, who uttered that damning phrase "ye shalt not surely die" (Gen. 3:4), every word of Antichrist Obama's that you sycophants hang on leads you closer to hell.

You want the winds of change to blow? Take our word for it, they're going to blow like a whirlwind. They're going to come in and rip this place apart, and leave you God-hating idolators crying out for the rocks and mountains to fall upon you (Rev. 6:16). The smell of those winds won't be freedom and (supposed) equality for all, but hellfire and brimstone. Prepare for change, indeed -- "Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight" (Mark 1:3).

I just remember someone saying he was against gay marriage, or that he wasn't for it, and thought it was some info everyone would like to know.

WickedlyNate
01-06-2009, 02:20 AM
Well..it's a really good thing not everyone believes what they do.
Because..well..yeah...I don't have to say it.

I'm glad he believes in some kind of marriage system for the gay community.
I'm fine with that...other people might not be, but I am. :)

Gay marriage isnt technically called gay marriage over here either.

Civil Partnership.
i think whatever it's called it's the same thing - the civil union of two souls declaring their undying love for each other :]
