ok so my friend said:
"my mom told me... if something happens to me and i die and find out there is a heaven.. and i didn't get baptised.... i would be screwed"
i personally dont believe in things such as god or w.e
yea i do believe tehres something out there but i dont believe its this popularized "god" that everyone raves about.
i think w.e is out there is something we cant possibly comprehend until its our time to understand.
whats everyone elses opinions?

I believe in more than one god. like a god for the sun,
for the water, etc. But I also do believe there's a main god, if that makes since.
And, I personally think that god would accept us whether we're not baptized, gay, bi, whatever.
I don't think he'd be mean enough to send us all to hell for being something that society doesn't like.
That's my opinion, though. [:

And if he really "created" us all to be special,
to be ourselves,
Then why can't we be ourselves?
People have to get over the fact that some will never be what humans have programmed them to be.

I believe that the afterlife is what you think it is.
Tbh i don't believe the whole crockpot idea of just coming from atoms
something had to make them, and make everything

me too, I just don't understand it.
Somebody made us,
how'd him/her/they pop out of thin air?
not even air, at that?
the creation of us is so confusing x__o

I don't believe that god is vengeful or vinditive
I do believe in a heaven and a hell
I believe Major Stuff Lands you In Hell
but not 1 thing like killing a person does
its a culmination of your life
its hard to explain my beliefs online but in real life i can explain it better

I believe there is a higher power but it's a power i do not worship.
Not being baptized doesn't stop you from going to heaven and it doesn't stop you from going to hell either, if such places exist. The rules of getting to heaven and hell are the same to the baptised and the non-baptised.
Personally i wouldn't want to go to either, tortured in hell and the perfect world in heaven which would make the afterlife most unamusing. When i die i want to be reincarnated....into a boy who lives in america xD
I'd hate to be reincarnated into a girl or animal, no offence ladies!! I like having a penis >:]

I've been told that I have 'stupid, retarded, ignorant' views on my religion.
I believe that there is a possibility that a higher power could exist.
I do believe that we evolved from something smaller than what we are now.
I mean if you look at the world around us there are just too many things that are evolving as we speak.
There is too much proof out there that things are evolving.
Including humans.
I'm not so sure that we evolved from monkeys though.
I also believe that I haven't had time to discover whatever this higher power may be.
And until I get enough life experience down, I probably won't.
IF there is one.
And if there is an afterlife, then I will discover it later on.
I don't believe things like that are up to me to decide.
:)

I've always wanted to experience the lifestyle as a boy growing up in america.

youd probably end up as a shallow boy who makes "fat" kids feel unwanted. stay away from america. its messes with ur head.
and on the topic of religion and beliefs. evolution is also a big factor in everyones minds. did we evolve from monkeys? were we at one point dolphins?? honestly, i dont think we'll ever know.

I also don't believe in any religion... they are just there so we humans have something to follow/believe/have hope in....
IN MY opinion ... Science really explains it all yet some questions can never be answered which sucks because i would really like them to be answered lol xD
God is made up ... to me, as is everything else in religion However some parts do explain things science has yet to explain... i would list them but i am not clear on more than 1 part lol
I always liked Religious education though for the debates... anyways ... yeah that's my thoughts =]
lol .. ignore them, do what ever xD haha =P
Laterz xx i like the you only live once thing too lol

Unless seeing Cavemen attering each other helps.....actually..that would be pretty darn funny

Come on guys!
No matter how much I think of it I always come to the realsation that god does not exist. Or any other form of god. I don't know how you guys come up with "I believe their is a higher power". Where do you pull that from? Are you afraid of not knowing answers so you come up with your own stories that happen to be acceptale (because it's a god) so it's not like it's original thought.
Please tell me what you think (sorry if I came across a bit harsh)
Also, evolution and big bang is proven. We didn't just appear

The big bang is NOT a proven theory.
Neither is evolution.
Nothing in science has ever been supported by infallable undeniable proof.
In fact, the big bang is highly discredited lately - or rather, the publics view of what the big bang was.
The big bang theory as the origin of the universe has been completely disproven - the universe contains all of time and space, for the rapid expansion of particles and matter it caused there would already have had to be some particles there, but obviously if there's no universe you can't have particles.
Scientists do however believe that the universe started off in a hot dense state, went through a rapid state of expansion and, to this day, continues to expand.
Evolution as a theory makes sense. It would explain why things have changed over time and how organisms are made from very complex combinations of molecules while some contain a single cell.
The rapid evolution of disease such as the flu virus strengthens the theory and makes it easier to explain.
None of this however is rock solid.
And none of this, however true it may or may not be would completely disprove the idea of a higher being.
As nice as it may be for the human race to be the superior beings in the universe as we know it, we can never say for sure that we are.
There has never been any explanation provided for the WAY that we evolved - why we evolved to be dependent on the consumption of other species, why we're the only species with homosexual tendencies, why we live or die, why we developed personalities - all of which are seemingly useless and cannot have been effected by evolution or everyone who grew up in similar environments would be exactly the same.
I find it very hypocritical that you accuse people of a fear of not knowing answers when it is in fact that same fear from whence science came.
The science of which hypotheses' you're flaunting right now.
Just because the casually accepted ideas of religion may have been disproved does not mean that we weren't in fact created to begin with - as single cell organisms perhaps.
I don't honestly believe that there is any proof whatsoever either way.
I think it would be nice to be able to believe in the idea of heaven and hell - that everybody gets what they deserve in the end, that your loved ones who have passed on are happy and safe, not just evaporated into nothingness, recycled and turned into compost, but we cant say that for sure.
It would be nice to believe that we had a reason, a purpose... anything.
But there's no PROOF.
There is no undeniable proof that any god(s) or goddess(es) exist(s), and no undeniable proof that he/she/they don't either.
Which is kind of the whole point of religion.
You have to BELIEVE, blindly, faithfully, and wholeheartedly, without asking for proof.
You have to be happy to leave your questions UNANSWERED.
Science doesn't understand that.
Science NEEDS to know WHY, and WHAT and WHEN and WHERE and HOW and WHO.
But it can never PROVE anything undeniable.
That's why when you do an experiment you always have variables and radicals, and you get the occasional unexplained result.
Like cold fusion.
The whole religion/science thing is just Schrödinger's Cat.

yeah ok... There are countless ways evolution and the big bang (do your own research) but NNNNNOOOOOONNNNEEEEEEEE for any religion!!
Personally I don't really care what happen after I die. Please, go ahead and explain why it would be nice to believe in haven and hell.. I'm interested to know
Now I would also beperfectly happy not knowing where we came from, how and why because I can accept that there are no answers to some questions. I am perfectly fine with accepting ther's nothing to live for, I guess some people do need religion to live for
Nevertheless, everybody should read The God Delusion, whether they believe in religion or not

Xander, I believe in religion. I believe in God.
I also believe in Karma, in superstition, and in luck/circumstance.
I believe ANYTHING is possible, and don't limit myself to any one religious point of view...the universe is much too large to think that only one way is the right way. That would be naiive. I've had the proof shown to me that something bigger is out there. I've had run-ins with beings from different planes of existence. Ghosts, wraiths, angels, daemons, vampires, the boogey man...why can't they ALL exist? Don't WE exist?
I believe in an afterlife...not neccesarily "Heaven" or "Hell", but in another place. Not even "Reincarnation", but just...another state of being past this life's limit. One of my BFs is a semi-believer, and the other BF is adamant that there IS NOTHING (I use the term BF lightly). If I'm thinking right, James believes in SOME things, while Conrad doesn't believe, period. I just so happen to believe in everything:3
I'm not living my life to make it to a better place...I'm living my life to make THIS place better- for myself, and for future generations. There's more to life than just to live. If you went around "existing", not really doing much of ANYTHING, I personally believe you're a waste of a human being, of a life. I'm not really a selfish person, so I think that we should strive for better lives for our children and the children of the future.
So here's to the Year 3000.
-Vampi
people question me all the times on it...but you're right, I can't PROVE anything to anyone. That's why it's called "believe": because you jsut have to put your heart into it and BELIEVE that something good will come from it.

Xander, In answer to your question.
I think it would be nice to be able to honestly believe in a heaven or hell situation.
Because I know a lot of people who get comfort from believing that their loved ones are in a better place.
Also, my biggest phobia is that when you die, you just die. Because, as a prospect, the end to my quite possibly useless and meaningless existance scares me rather a lot.
I'm not scared to admit that I'm afraid.
I'm just one of those people that needs some meaning in my life.
Being perfectly honest, I think organized religion is kind of evil, because it kills more people every year than hitler did in the whole of world war two.
Religion starts all the wars.
Oh, and i'm with vampi on this...
I'm not living my life to make it to a better place...I'm living my life to make THIS place better- for myself, and for future generations. There's more to life than just to live. Except, I guess in a more present day sort of manner.
Your life is important if there is even a single person on the planet who you make smile.
Because if there is someone on the planet that you can make happy, then you have contributed to the human experience.
Because happiness is important.
A damn sight more important than most things.
If there is one thing I point blank do not believe in, it is Karma.
Because there are some things that you just can't justify.

I didn't know so many people would...like, I guess...my point of view. I didn't know so many would AGREE with it, I suppose.
The tarot is BRILL, but tarot cards only really work if they're given as a gift. It's kind of a superstition, you cannot go out and buy the tarot for yourself, for it is a selfish way to gain knowledge...it must be given- but the Tarot is brill, it's blates obv.

I'm a bit of a spiritualist myself, get it from my Aunt. Not sure what I believe in truth, but I'm quite content not worrying about things like the afterlife. I'll probably be bricking it when I'm on my death bed but I'll worry about that then. Got enough on my plate as it is.
