So I thought I'd do the debate for this week... it's something that has been creeping up on us all ever since September... it's all around us, on TV, in newspapers, magazines... EVERYWHERE!

How do you feel about the constant advertisement of Christmas? Do you think that the purpose of Christmas is being capitalized on too much? Does it provoke excitement? Should Christmas advertising be banned until December? What do you think!? :present:

PS. to get you in the mood, we've added falling snowflakes to the forum! Hoorahh!?

I am not one to be fond of christmas now, these days people only focus on gifts and not giving them out. I miss the togetherness which christmas was once truly about but it's not now...i think TV advertisement has had a part in that! Advertising this and that for him or her....IT'S MADNESS I SAY!

Plus...i'm skint at this time of year, Benny likes having money on him.

Pretty sure this year they started the advertising earlier to try and battle the credit crunch. Sneaky devils.

I don't mind adverts for christmas
I mean everyone gets the stuff early anyway yno incase they run out
If it was in October yeah it's a bit bonkers but in November I guess it ain't so bad.

I typically don't mind the advertising. The thing that bugs me is when Christmas decorations and whatnots are released and scattered among the stores before Halloween has even gone by. WTH even happened to Thanksgiving?! I'd rather not have it so in my face until at least the day after Thanksgiving if not waiting until December 1st. For the most part though, I just laugh all the ads off.
