ok so me and my mom were watching this show about nostradamus.
apparently they found a new book of his but only containing drawings of his predictions.

they began talking about this one picture that was of the antichrist.
serpent body. human head. blood dripping from the mouth.

then my mom was like.

OBAMAS THE ANTICHRIST!

and i just looked at her like she was growing a third eye and asked her to please explain.

she says that the antichrist is described as someone who everyone thinks is great and will be our savior. he will come down great and powerful and no one would ever suspect that he was here to do wrong. no one would ever see it coming. and that Obama has everyone under the impression that hes here to make "change" in a positive way. but she thinks its a negative way.

now im not gonna lie. i truley dont believe in anything thats "godly" such as the bible. or church. or anything that tells me i should bow down to a man and pray to something i may never see.
and im not knocking anyone who does. thats all ur choice and this is all mine.

but obama as the antichrist?? COME ON. lets a try and make some kind of sense here.

well any ways. whats everyone elses opinion on this?

I think AntiChrist is way too strong a word for Obama. Waaaaay too strong a word!

But did your mother support McCain? If she did, then she will think that he is going to make negative change, because he has the values of a Democrat and McCain has the values of a Republican. So those who supported McCain WILL be displeased with Obama's placement.

The only thing that scares me about Obama is that we have placed him on a very high pedestal. Placing every single one of your hopes on one person will usually lead to a little disappointment, at least. Rick Warren is the first disappointment I have recieved from Obama. But I still hope that he will make the change that he promised; people just need to accept that it will take time. It won't happen overnight. But it will happen!

Describing him as the AntiChrist is silly. :)

One reason people might think that is because Obama promises to change the US and alot of people are afraid of change.

Where I live, which is a not really a "country city" but a small city placed in between a big city and the middle of nowhere, the majority of the community are racist and have a problem with Obama being half African. They believe that everything Obama is is completely and totally wrong. So of course they take someone who thinks Obama is "the antichrist", run with what they say, believe it and preaches to everyone how Obama is stupid and should not be alive.

I personally do not have any religious beliefs. But up until a few yrs. ago, for reasons, I was a Christian. With what they taught in church, judging someone because of what they believe, don't believe, and what color their skin is, is looked down upon. So I don't see how people can make an assumption that somebody is their antichrist because of what they say and believe as a presidential candidate?? The majority of the people in my community say they are devote Christians but yet they name a person the antichrist because he doesn't have the same views as they have and is a little darker.

In my American History class the people named above and me usually get into heated debates because I do not think it's right that they try to preach and shove a religion down your throat let alone their fact that Obama is the antichrist which they came up while eating their Lucky Charms that morning. Just like when they tell me being a vegetarian/vegan is wrong b/c they eat meat. :'@

she says that the antichrist is described as someone who everyone thinks is great and will be our savior. he will come down great and powerful and no one would ever suspect that he was here to do wrong.

"anitchrist" from it's origins in Latin literally means "one in place of christ". so technically it's the pope.
it could be seen as either negative or positive..
